Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars

So I keep promising everyone (Kairi and Martin) that I'll start blogging again and ta-daa, here I am!!
Woo...
It's not as late as I would have expected, I'm listening to stupidly depressing music, which I used as the title of this blog post for reasons of unoriginality and I've wasted the past three hours on YouTube vloggers and sudoku that I found in the local newspaper and since when are local newspaper sudokus this ridiculously hard?! Since when does the local newspaper have a sudoku??
I guess some things are best left alone.
The vlogs however got me wanting to blog. Well, actually they got me wanting to vlog but as I've already mentioned during some late-night rambling, that just sounds like a terrible idea.

A quick peek into my blog reveals that (aside from the amusing little "rebirth" post) last time I wrote something was in January. Hm. Well.

Since January I have had another birthday, this time my 12th. (Or 18th if I'm the only one who sort of remembers the running joke...) I had a quaint little party with my closest friends at my sisters cottage.

I wish I could include a picture of all four of us, because most of them were absolutely precious, but since I'm not a douche and at least try to respect people's privacy in my blog (although I have sort of given up censoring the names, let's just be all chill and try not to facebook search anyone mentioned here, okay?). So I'm just going to add this picture of me and Martin since I can at least puppy-dog eyes my way out of it if he gets mad.

I also went to driver's ed or driving school or whatever the fuck I'm supposed to call it. Haven't got my licence yet, final exam on the 26th, hopefully all will go well. Here's a tip for you if you try to get your licence: ask around, find out which examiner is easy-going and which not. Avoid the one that makes you do stuff you're shit at or face paying the price. Literally, because exam fee in estonia is 88€ the first time and if you flunk your theory, it's extra 25€ to do it again and 38€ if, like me, you failed your driving exam the first time around because the examiner was sort of a dick and because no-one actually taught you how to park properly, which they apparently don't in our driving classes.

Sorry, I'm a lottle touchy on the subject. Moving on.

I went to Kohtla-Järve again because I have the worst luck when it comes to drawing tickets for the practical week thing. It was just as russia as the last time and we did mostly the same things, except this time it was sort of a little bit more fun? I guess the company was a bit livelier and there was 60% more alcohol involved, which, not such a good thing.

yeah, there. Have more of my face and pasty white legs, you haven't had any for like half a year.

Like a week or so after that, I went on a school trip with my class and... wait for it... my mother. Yes I took my mother on a class trip.
For the most part, it  was fine, for other parts, it was a disaster. Not relevant.
The trip took us through Latvia, Lithuania, Poland to Czech land thing. Whatever it is nowadays. Czech republic? Possibly.
Prague is absolutely gorgeous, 10/10 would recommend. We got to have a couple of midnight walks through the streets of Prague, got a couple of midnight scares and visited the caves of Punkva which are pretty nice but in my opinion, not really worth the ticket money. We saw the old town of Prague and stayed in a very nice hotel.

From there, we drove back through most of Czechland and went to Poland to visit the Auschwitz concentration camps.
Now I will not be including pictures, google it and find for yourself if you really want. I also would like to say that yeah, George Santayana was right in saying "The one who does not remember history is bound to live through it again." But I'm quite content remembering from afar. The whole experience was (as it should be) extremely gloomy and made me feel bad for what people are capable of doing. And I, for one, do not like to lose hope in humanity. It makes me feel like everything is pointless and cruel and that visit and even looking at the pictures now, two months later, it makes me feel sad a hopeless and I don't think that should be the point of that place.

Then we were taken to an absolutely atrocious motel in Poland, where we spent our time like the absolute idiots we are and did things we are not proud of. The next day took us back through Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. We arrived at home around 1 am which was all dandy because my drivers ed thing required me to get on a bus 5am that very same morning to go some ways back to Pärnu. Sleep deprived and starved me then had to drive in wet conditions and learn not to use the hand break on ice. Great.

I got to enjoy home for about two weeks after that, alternately chilling at the countryside, with my sister at Kuressaare and at Orissaare with Martin. Then, I set off again. To Finland for July.

After shedding some tears and being a sentimental sap, I sat in the car with my sister and another day of trying to fool the parking controller and playing a game of "Fuck are we going on the right ship" started. Ended up pretty good though, we did get to where we wanted, with minor complications. I spent the first week with Kaida, babysittig the dogs, sitting on the computer and doing absolutely fuck all. Then on a saturday we took a trip to Vuosaari which is a charming little piece of Helsinki, played a game of "Is this thunderstorm coming here? Naaah, we're gonna be fine", getting absolutely drenched and went to eat in a american restaurant that served the worst burger I have ever met.

My sister will not mind that I added her picture. Probably.

Then, I was sent to help my other sister with babysitting and stuff like that. I was given one day to get used to the baby and that was literally it. But then again I did find that that particular baby was not as scary as I expected. In fact, my little niece is quite, dare I say it, adorable.

That was the first day, it got better after that. I also now have a new appreciation for mothers who are at the store alone, with a baby. We did find time to shop and do the usual (eat), which of course resulted in a cake.

You may already have an inkling that it was not decorated by me. Your inkling is right, the decoration was done by my sister but the cake was mostly me. It was darned good as well. And then I came back after a month had passed.

As soon as I was back, I went from cottage to Kuressaare to Orissaare to Kuressaare again and it was finally time for Kuressaare Maritime days 2013. This year with the added bonus of me and Martin working as volunteers.

If you really squint then I'm the tiny one behind all the people in the third picture. There you go, proof that I was there and sweated like a pig, while doing stuff.

Since that I've been sitting on my ass, once again, doing nothing. But now my blog has also been updated accordingly and perhaps I will start taking blogging seriously again and you will probably not be delighted to hear all about my final year of high school and the tragedy of Probably Not Getting Into College To Study The Thing I Want To Study.

Goodday.
