2spooky

So, time has got away from me a little bit. It's nearly halloween! End of October! November!! Amazing.

Since the last post, I've been primarily (avoiding) studying.

No but look at that tea sieve, if it isn't the cutest thing
Within these past few weeks I have managed a chemistry test and a lating test. Well "managed" is a strong word for two tests that I don't know the results to. That is, perhaps, for the best though. I've also been watching Project Runway with Bambs on those off chances that we both have a weekend that is not filled with insane studying.

Almost two weeks ago I asked my sister to gather a sort of a must-have medicine pack for the Harsh Winters Of Tartu (TM), and she did. Similarly to another pack she sent me, she posted it on a nice tuesday to the packmachine of SmartPost to arrive at Tasku centre in 3-5 days. 7 days later she gave them a call. A day after that my package turned up at Ringtee selver in the middle of fucking nowhere.
7 buses and two toes later, I successfully arrived home and opened it and goodness gracious me it's like she thinks I moved to Alaska...

I mean Tartu almost equals Alaska so...
We, little pharmaceutical foxcubs, also got consecrated on a rainy thursday, filled with drippy cakes and incredibly loud and incredibly drunk lecturers who insisted we sing "Krambabuli" again and again until we did it perfectly, which is quite the task for a crowd of drunk students and their equally drunk conductor who happened to be the aforementioned drunk lecturer.

There is also something to be said about the christmas paraphernalia (Holy actual shit I typed that word correctly from hearing, I'm a fucking goddess) adorning every godforsaken store on this tiny patch of earth we call Tartu.

Christmas in October, brought to you by Priogovi Park!
I'm totally not sorry about the picture I took with my trusted potato.
This past weekend my parents decided to visit me, among other things and our extremely exciting weekend included things like mattress-shopping, not getting to eat in Werner, not tipping the waitress at Pahad Poisid, driving in a circle around the observatory in Tõravere, using a disabled bathroom in Elva for 20 cents and finally our Saturday culminated in my parents and me, sitting in the living room, everyone typing away merrily on their own computers and drinking wine in their respective corners. 21st century, baby!

Tonight I shall go out and unwind.
Till next time,
Kelly

PUMPKIN!

Guess what?
I'm procrastinating.

I've got a tonne of chemistry to do but naah. I'll try blogging again.

Yesterday was an entirely orange day so my blog theme was pretty well chosen. I got myself 1,5kg pumpkin from a fellow student and made some cake for Triine & Joel as a payment for this awesome addition to my wall:

Source is Triines instagram which I only found today and has her superawesome art in it.
Cutting a pumpkin is wayyyyy harder than I thought. Or maybe I'm just wayyyy weaker than I thought. Probably both. But cut it got and cooked it got too.

When taking a picture of it I also decided to show off my minced-meat-sauce-making-skills because the cake doesn't really look all that great. Considering that this is how it's supposed to look:

The source has the receipe, too!
The taste however was prettty good. I'd put way less sugar into it next time but all in all it was edible. Rest of the pumpkin I roasted and pureed and I mean it looks really nice and orange and everything but it smelled like baby food and made me truly feel sorry for babies, no wonder they cry so much. I'd cry too if I had to eat this:

Thankfully I'm not a baby though and pumpkin *cakes* taste great.

My first pureed pumpkin!!

Blogging is frikkin hard

There is something ridiculously amusing about my continuing attempts at getting back to blogging. That aside, let me give you a short recount of what has been going on since my last post 15th of August, 2013

  • I started 12th grade
  • I took my exams
  • I successfully graduated from Saaremaa Ühisgümnaasium
  • I got into Tartu University and now am officially a student of pharmacy
At the moment though, I am sitting in my sisters cottage, in Saaremaa, looking at my nephew driving around on his extremely annoying princess car and thinking that it is true what they say, indeed: time moves at a different pace here.

Even with the rush of Saaremaa rally upon us, i still feel like I have been here for a long and relaxing stay even though I only arrived yesterday.
Aside from the melancholy evening feelings, I guess it should be mentioned that I live in Tartu now, I'm officially a big city girl and I can't say I'm overly fond of it. The bus traffic and unpredictable weather still bother me much more than I'd like to admit and living so far from Triine & Joel is stressful. Being all the way on the other side of the country from my family doubly so.
School is scary and I often feel a sort of disconnection from others on my year. I guess more time to adjust is the only remedy here and, indeed, the only thing I can do.

Writing this while the ending of Madagascar 3 is blaring from the TV (dadadadadada circus dadadadadada afro circus afro circus afro polka dot polka dot polka dot afro) is a bit, well to overuse a word, disconnected.

Rene, said nephew, is now a year and 5 months old and an absolute little menace. There is nothing sadder than the thought that now I'm going to see him even less than before, but alas, time can't be bought and during school time I have precious little of it to spare.

I'm honestly at a loss of words, blogging comes extremely hard after such a long time and perhaps this is it for now.

So long, cowboys
